Sitting outside enjoying a little cool breeze, some bird song, and a quiet moment.
Brian will arrive tonight with our Bella and the truck and our car. I stocked up on Bella treats today, I heard she has not been eating during the trip, but she is staying hydrated.
Brian has been so gracious and selfless in offering and in driving the truck along the country from the depths of Florida to Northwest Wisconsin. By himself.
Both him and Shel have given their time and energy – both cherished commodities one can never regain. Who are we, my husband and I? Just a small piece of family who have not been within the family circle. Yet they are here for us heart and soul.
I am deeply grateful, Shel and Brian. Please know that we will try to be as attentive and selfless as you have been. We are here for you, too. Now.
I hope we can also help take the load off my brother and sisters in caring for our mother properly, as each one of us would want to be taken care of in our older age and declining health. The way our mother should be taken care of after all she has done for us – each of us as her children, stepchildren, in-law.
I am so lucky to be part of this family. We are like no other, and I want to ensure that flame never dies out.
Thank you for reading.
Lisa
