The Most Amazing White Acrylic, or … More B&W Apple Blossoms

Ok, so I have this thing for apple trees. And here is another version of my Black and White Apple Blossoms.

With this version, I accidentally discovered an amazingly bright white-white (compared to just “plain old” Titanium White). I ordered Matisse Structured acrylics* in four colors. Matisse is, obviously, more expensive than the Liquitex and Golden paints I’ve used until now, but I am sold on the white.

To be honest, I purchased the least expensive tubes of colors in the Matisse Structure acrylics, except for the Titanium White. My original purpose is to build up a nice thick, three-dimensional layer of color. Aside from the white, I also purchased a blue, red, and yellow – a collection of primaries to allow me to mix a few other colors.

I digress, but you should know that by now.

Back to the Titanium White. I spread the Matisse onto some of my petals before switching to my Golden TW to finish with the highlights. It was then that I noticed the Matisse TW could be seen from the ISS.

Even though I am tickled by the amazing white of Matisse, I  will continue to use my Golden and/or Liquitex and/or Basics Titanium white where I see fit for each. But for that extra special touch of Amazing White (aka Matisse Structure Titanium White), I intend to keep this one Matisse color on my palette, forevermore.
