Dream Love Forgive Hope Free

Because I can’t stay away from my studio when I have hours of free time looming before me (I have Sundays off, amidst the fact that the store just happens to be closed today, for the holiday), I went at it again. This time I took my time, rotated my paper a couple of times during my process, and added some words.

Because – for the most part – I have again painted in the style of Betty Krause (www.BettyKrauseArt.com, I love her paintings and really want one), I will skip to the part where I tell what the words in the piece mean to me.

Dream. Dream with your eyes wide open. Reach for the stars while keeping your feet planted on the ground. Have high aspirations, but keep it real. This is what to dream means to me.

Love. Love your neighbor. Empathize with him or her. Put yourself in their shoes and be compassionate. We are all in this together. (This also means to love yourself, to be compassionate with your self.)

Forgive. (This one’s the hard one for me.) Forgive your enemies. Those who have done wrong by you. Accept that it just is, and that you have no control over the past, but you can control your now and your future by not letting it define you. Forgiveness isn’t saying whatever happened is ok, it is saying I will be ok.

Hope. Hope for peace. For peace will change the world. And you. Peace will change you, as well.

Free. Free your soul. Let loose the bonds of stagnation, hate, grudges, and control. Dream, love, forgive, and hope. Listen to your inner self through meditation or art or gardening or math – or whatever helps you to listen to the voice within, and grow into the person you need to be.

So this is my session today. There are so many other words I could’ve written that mean the world to me just as these five words do, but I will leave them for another day.

Be safe. Be healthy.

And loveness to all.
