About the Art

First…

… Every image on this website – every photograph, painting, drawing, digital image – I’ve created every single one of them. You will not find an image here that does not have my fingerprint. However, I have noted (mainly in my Galleries) when I have used another’s piece as studio practice or study.

Please, if you like anything, dislike, hate, or just plain “ugh” anything, I would love to hear your feedback. Write a comment, contact me, email me, hit the Like or Share button…

Whatever you are here for, whatever you do – before you leave, please leave your fingerprint.

Submit a comment or your feedback – I appreciate it beyond words.

About My Art

What do I want to say about my art? It is different, I think. Maybe because I think differently, and I want to show you what I think. The same as any artist, I imagine. Besides it being therapy for body, mind, and soul.

When I picked up a paintbrush at 45 years old – not quite two years ago – I had always “wanted” to paint, but I didn’t (don’t) have drawing skills. Like everyone else, it seems, I thought painting involved a lot of drawing.

Of course, just like tons of math is needed in school in order to learn how to properly balance a checkbook, knowing how to draw can give you the understanding of certain things – like perspective and shading – to help improve your painting. Makes sense to me.

But you can get by with the basics in painting. I’m so glad I don’t need a full college education to paint or to “make art”.

Oh, yeah. My art.

About the Art

Let me get right to the point, now:

I am a quiet person. I don’t ask for help much, and I prefer being encompassed by the safety of my home than have to put myself out there and talk to someone.

I’ve been a self-taught artist, since late 2016. My experience, at first, was painting flowers and finding flower images from the Internet that I wanted to paint.

I then developed into water and trees and forests and creeks. Some weird things here and there. Hills and mountains.

I’ve painted a Native America series consisting of eight different paintings, different styles, different sizes. Same general theme of Native America.

I’d like my art to be a reminiscent of a story caught in a moment of time. A piece of memory. A passing glance. What is, and what has always been.

My painting is not quite amateur. Yet, it never looks quite finished when I’m done.

The same when I talk. I start out with a subject, but end up going into a different direction. Because I forget what I am talking about. My mind scrambles my thoughts as well as my mouth.

I paint what makes me feel good to paint. I’ve painted the view outside our old apartment a couple of times. Once during the day – the other time, I stayed up the entire night painting the “night” version right after I painted the “day” painting.

Check out my galleries of paintings!

Thank you for reading.
