Prelude to B&W Apple Blossoms
As you know, we’ve moved from Florida to Wisconsin over the Summer. Being Floridians (me by time and my husband from birth), our Florida Winter consisted of a week of 40*F, with the remainder of the season in the more acceptable 50’s, 60’s, and 70’s.
Right now, in Wisconsin, we have some snow. We’ve had snow for a few weeks, with a couple of 40’s days to melt the snow, only to have another snowfall just behind it.
I’ve run the snowblower a couple of times already; the latest snowfall gave us maybe an inch that I started shoveling. We have a large driveway.
Also, my wardrobe now consists of a Winter coat, gloves, hats, scarves, long-johns, and some really warm socks. I am prepared for the deep freeze that January and February will bring. And I am not looking forward to it.

However, what I’m trying to get at is this: growing up (in Wisconsin), we had a beautiful gorgeous impressive apple tree in our yard that produced the most beautiful apple blossoms every spring. Now that we are back in Wisconsin, we were lucky enough to have a crab apple tree in our yard. I haven’t seen the blossoms, since we arrived late May and the blossoms were already over. Sad Face. But for that, I am looking forward.
In tribute to my original, hometown, apple tree, I try to draw or paint these beautiful blossoms from my memory or from reference photos.
And with that, here is my latest apple blossom painting:
